From May the 23d to May the 26th the sixth project meeting took place in Nazilli, Turkey.
We visited the school and the principal welcomed us with a warm welcome speach.
We met a lot of students who were very happy to know new people from all around Europe.
We also visited a beautiful exhibition displayed in the school with drawings done by portugese students on the topic of food. Then, we splitted in different groups, every of which worked in the workshops of the school (ceramic, fabric, mosaic, cooking etc). The lunch was partially prepared by the cooking workshop. In the afternoon, we visited a small village where the main production focuses on clay. It was very interesting to observe how the whole village is able to mantain its economic and production process throught the only element of clay.
The next day, we had the pleasure to visit the beautiful natural site of Pamukkale and the archeological site Hierapolis. We walked through the ruins and on the travertine hot springs. In the afternoon, we came back to school and did some activities with the students organized by the portugese team.
A very interesting activity, organized as well by the portugese team, was the food piramyd. The goal of the activity was to place food in the right order, form the most needed and healty to the less needed and unhealty. It was a very educative activity because students and teachers had the chance to realize the hierarchy of nutrition for our bodies.
After that, our students prepared a delicious dessert with turkish teachers.
On the next day, we visited The House of the Virgin Mary on Mt. Koressus and Ephesus, another beautiful and very important archeological site which layered centuries of history, from the Greeks to the Bizantine passing through thr Romans. It is also one of the biggest archeological site in whole Europe.
We finished the visit with a rich turkish breakfast in a natural farm!
