Bean stew
Ingredients: 500g white beans 2 carrots 1 big onion 1/2 preserve jar of tomatoes (tomato paste) 1 tsp. baking soda salt red pepper oil mint Directions: Wash the beans and soak in hot water for about one hour. Throw out the soaking water, put the beans in a pot, pour in fresh water to cover and bring the beans to boil. Throw out the water again. Add the grated carrots, tomato paste, soda ( to cook beans faster ) and mint. Pour in 2 l water. Leave cooking for about 1½ – 2 hours. Add salt to taste. Mix the oil, flour, finely chopped onion and red pepper for thickening and add to the bean stew.
